For Bernardina, embroidery is far more than a craft — it is healing, strength, and freedom. She learned 18 years ago from her mother-in-law, Lupita, a pioneer of artisan groups in her community. After surviving a severe case of preeclampsia, she found in embroidery a form of therapy that helped her manage hypertension and rebuild her life. A mother of three, she now turns every stitch into a statement of autonomy, self-love, and resilience.
